The FutureTouch Solution

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency deployed a simple touchscreen kiosk application in 1996 which was installed at 5 agency field offices. The kiosks provided valuable information to the construction industry by providing data about parcels of land in the planning district and provided permitting information and applications. While the idea was a success, they found that they needed a more secure kiosk engine to drive their web-based content. TRPA contracted with FutureTouch to convert their existing kiosk network to take advantage of the FutureTouch EyePoint kiosk operating engine software. FutureTouch also provided an extensive facelift to the content to improve the user interface for use with a touch screen.
