The FutureTouch Solution

The overall purpose of the project is to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality in the Washington, D.C. area by increasing the number of commuters that utilize alternative modes of transportation. TouchVision developed a traveler information kiosk network for the Washington, D.C. Council of Governments. Eleven kiosks are located in malls, shopping centers, the Pentagon, the Federal Department of Justice, and transit centers. Commuters receive information about alternative modes of transportation. The system displays transit routes and schedules, rideshare options, commuter resources, and other pertinent information is available.
