The Department of Child Support Services in Kern Country, California needed a better way to help serve the public more effectively. They decided that kiosks would help streamline their processes of serving the community, so they looked for FutureTouch Technology to provide the answers they were looking for.
The FutureTouch Solution
After further discussions between FutureTouch and Kern Co., the plan would be to develop three different kiosk solutions for a complete technical update to the existing method of serving the public.
The most important solution was to develop a private sit down video conferencing kiosk. This kiosk would be placed in remote facilities with limited staff so people looking for help could speak "face to face" with a social worker rather than be forced to wait weeks for help or travel many miles. for this need.
The next solution was to utilize the FutureTouch Check-In
product to facilitate the waiting room process at the county’s central Child Services department. Check-In was deployed with elegant all-in-one unit, the CounterPoint
. With Check-In, vistors could electronically enter their information eliminating the need for a clipboard and the confusion of who's next in line. The system keeps statistics of people served and their wait times as well as the monitoring of employee efficiency.
The final piece was to deploy La Jolla kiosks
throughout the county to all the child services offices. This would allow the public to browse specific websites focused on child services. The kiosk was secured utilizing the FutureTouch Technology Evocator
